About Heisei Press

Heisei Press is a curated digital publication and preservation project dedicated to the enduring aesthetics of Japan’s Heisei era.

Through a combination of photography, illustration, and 3D art, I document the visual identity, design philosophy, and cultural touchstones that define this unique period—capturing their influence both in Japan and throughout the landscapes of Southern California.

Our Focus

Heisei Press serves as a visual record and narrative journal exploring:

  • Pop Culture & Design: The art, music, anime, and graphic movements that shaped a generation.

  • JDM & Street Culture: The machines, urban environments, and "vibe" of Japanese automotive and street life.

  • Food & Atmosphere: Documenting the cafes, neighborhoods, and lived-in spaces that bridge the gap between tradition and modern life.

  • Digital Preservation: Using modern creative tools to "archive" and highlight these subjects for a global audience.

The Mission

My goal with Heisei Press is to shine a light on the beauty and intention behind Japanese culture. By sharing my personal experiences and creative work, I hope to help others discover, appreciate, and preserve these aesthetics for the future.

Inside the Process

While Heisei Press focuses on cultural storytelling and final imagery, I share the technical side of my work elsewhere. For those interested in photography tips, Photoshop tutorials, or 3D workflow breakdowns, I invite you to visit my Patreon, where I host in-depth creative case studies and instructional content.
